To all whom it may concern.'
Be it known that I, EDWIN THOMAS SIN COCK, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at Black Hawk Post Office, in the ada, have invented new and useful Improvements in Glass-Fasteners, of which the following is a specification.
This invention is an improved glassfastener for securing` a glass pane or panes in a window sash or other frame, without the necessityT of employing putty or the like adhesive, and it consists in the construction, combination and arrangement of devices hereinafter described and claimed.
In the accompanying drawing,-Figure 1 is a side elevation of a glass fastener' constructed in accordance with this invention, showing the saine applied to a window sash for securing a glass pane therein. Fig. 2 is a detail perspective view of the glass fastener. Fig. 3 is an elevation of a form of my irnproved glass fastener for use in a corner or angle of a window sash, showing the same tive' view of such form of glass fastener. Fig. 5 is an elevation at right angles to Fig. 1, showing the glass fastener' attached to a window sash, a portion of the latter being indicated and the pane being indicated in cross section.
My improved glass fastener comprises a base to bear against the inner side4 of the window sash or other frame, a Wing extending` from such base at an angle thereto and parallel with the glass pane, and a spring attached to such wing lto bear against such pane and hold the latter in place.

wing being bent at right angles to such base at one side of the latter, as shown at Fig. 2. The said wing is shorter than said base, and the ends of the latter are provided with openings 3 for the reception of screws, nails or other like devices, by which the fastener may be secured to one side of the sash or frame with the base bearing against the same, to dispose the wing parallel with the glass pane. The spring 4 has its central portion'secured to the said wing, its end portions being disposed to bear against the glass to hold the latter in place.
In the form of the invention shown in Figs. 3 and 4 the base comprises right-angle portions 5, 6 to bear in the corner or angle of a sash or other frame, and the wing 7 connects such angle portions 5, 6. The spring S has its central portion attached to the said wing, and its vends serve to bear against the glass pane, as in the iirst instance.
A glass fastener thus constructed may be very readily manufactured at slight cost, maybe readily attached to or detached from a window sash or other frame and is entirely efficient in securing a glass pane in place and renders the use of putty or the like substance for this purpose unnecessary.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new, is
A glass fastener comprising a base having angularly disposed portions to bear in the corner of a sash or the like frame, a wing connecting such portions7 and a spring on said wing to bear against the glass.
