This invention has reference, generally, to

improvements in pyrotechnical toys; andthe invention relates, more particularly, to a novel form of pyrotechnical-toy, which is known in the art as an electric sparkler, and the same consists,- generally, in the application of a suitable pyrotechnical composition,

, 'for fire-works 'and other pyrotechnical devices, to a portion of a suitable wire or other support, which is rotatably connected to a stem or handle, so that, when the pyrotechnical composition is ignited, the device can be swung or rotated about the stein, and thereby produce beautiful pin-wheel effects.

My present invention has for its principal objects to provide a novel and simple pyrotechiiical toy of the general character hereinafter more particularly set forth and which can be readily manipulated and safely handled during the ignition of the pyrotechnical composition.

The manner of using the device, after the pyrotechnical compound has been ignited, will be clearly understood from an inspection of the several figures of the drawings; and, it will be evident, that l have devised a simple, neat and eilfective pyrotechnical toy, which can be easilv manipulated to produce a rotary or swinging movement of the suspended pyrotechnical compound or body, without any danger of burning oneself.

4. A pyrotechnical toy comprising a rod,

A pyrotechnical toy comprising a rod provided upon a portibn thereof with a pyrotechnical compound, said rod being provided at its upper end with a loop which serves as a means of rotary suspension, combined With a stem which serves as a handle, and from which said rod'is suspended so as to be capable of receiving a swing motion, and a pair of beads mounted upon said stem and held thereon by frictional contact, said beads being located on opposite sides of the loop of prevent lateral movement and displacement of the rod from said'stem, substantially as and for the purposes set forth.
