By adjusting this holder about the axis of the bolt 10, the cutter will be inclined to the axis of the device and with one end moving'in ad'- vance of the other.

To detachably and ad'ustably secure the cutter Qto the rear side oi the holder 8, I provide a plate 18, havinga rib 19 at the upper edge proj ecting substantially the thickness of the cutter and engaging the rear of the holder. This plate engages the rear surface of the cutter and'is provided with a series of holes 25 at fre uent intervals, and a pin 22 is provided in t e up erpart of the cutter, which pin is inserts in one of these holes to retain the cutter in place, and as the cutter is worn away, the pin is moved down in thevarious holes 25.

To hold the cutter 9 and plate 18, a clamp 15 is provided having recesses 20 at its respective ends to receive cap screws 14 in-' serted in the rear of the holder 8, and journaled in the upper partof this clamp is a cam 16 operated by a lever 17, and adapted to en'- gage the platelSnear the upper edge thereof.

By adjusting the cap screws and cam, thev plate and cutter will besecurely held in place and the cutter prevented'frorn vibrating or chattering. To secure the plate 18 from slipping downward, a pin 21 in the clamp 15 engages a hole 18," in said plate.

By the described construction, the cutter can be adjusted at pleasure, and also quickly and readily detached or again attached. The handle may alsobe adjusted above the cutter, or oppositely projecting as in the "drawings, and when occasion requires, the

device may be. readily turned with'the cutter projecting upward to conveniently sharpen or remove the same.

What Iclaim is:

1. In a floor scraper, a body mounted on two wheels, and adapted to be turned about the axis of said wheels to an inverted position, a bail pivoted to the body to turn to re versed positions means for holding the bail in p the respective positions, and a cutter attached to the under side ofthe body and projecting downward therefrom when the body is in one position and projecting upward therefrom when said body is in inverted position.

2, In a floor scraper, a body mounted on wheels, a cutter holder projecting downward from the body and pivoted to the same to turn on a vertical axis, an extension on the holder and having a segmental slot concentrio with the axis of the holder, a binding screw in the slot, and a cutter attached to the holder.

3. In a floor scraper, a body mounted on wheels, a cutter holder attached to the under side of the body by a vertical pivot bolt, an extension on the holder having a segmental slot concentric with the bolt, a binding screw in. the slot, and a reversible bail attached to the body whereby the body may be inverted to gain access to the cutter.

4. In a floor scraper, a cutter holder, a cutter engaged at one side by the holder, a plate having a rib at one edge and engaging the holder above the cutter, a clamp engaging the plate and having recesses at its respective ends, cap screws adjustable in the holder'and engaging the recesses, and a cam pivoted in the clamp and engaging the plate near its upper edge;

5. In a'floor scraper, a cutter holder, a cutter engaged at one side by the holder, a plate engaging the other side of the cutter, and having a series of holes, a pin in the cutter to successively engage said holes, and a clamp to engage the plate and press the same against the cutter.

6. In a floor scraper, a cutter, a holder engaging one side of the cutter, a plate engagmg the other side of the cutter and having a rib engaging the holder above the cutter, and also having a series of holes, a pin in the cutter to successively engage the holes in the plate, a clamp engaging the plate, means for forcing-the clamp against the plate, and a pin in the clamp engaging a hole in the plate 7, In a floor scraper, a cutter, a holder enenging one side of the cutter, a plate engaging the other side of the cutter and having a series of holes, a clamp engaging the plate and having a recessat each end, cap screws in the holder and engaging the recesses, a cam jour naled in the clamp and engaging the plate, a

pin in the clamp engaging a hole in the plate,

and a in in the cutter successively engaging the ho es in the plate. 8. Ina fioor scraper, a body recessed in the under side and near one end to receive a weight, means for securing a weight in the recess, a downwardly extended cutter holder on the other end of the body, an axle supporting the body, wheels journaled on the axle, a reversible bail pivoted to the body, means for securing the bail in the respective re versed positions, means for adjusting the cutter holder located on the under side of the body, and a clamp on the rear of the cutter holder and beneath the body,

9. In a floor scraper, a body having means for attaching aweight to its under side, an axle reversibly supporting the body, a cutter holder attached to the under side of the body and projecting downward therefrom, means for adjusting the holder and means for clamping a knife to the holder, said means also being beneath the body, and a reversible bail attached to the body, whereby the same may be inverted to gain access to devices located'at the underside of the sanie.
