EMIL WILHELM KLOTZ, OF TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA.
DISPLAY-STAND.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented May 12, 1908.
Application filed May 21, 1907. Serial No. 374,892.
T 0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMIL I/VILHELM KLOTZ, of the city of Toronto, in the county of York, in the Province of Ontario, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Display-Stands, of which the following is the specification.
My invention relates to improvements in display stands, and the object of the inven tion is to provide a simple, cheap and durable form of stand adaptable for exhibiting various articles of merchandise and which will occupy a minimum amount of floor space. And it consists essentially ot a base termed with a central tubular socket from which extends radially projecting feet, a ver tical standard designed to it within the socket and provided shoulder designed to rest upon the top of the tubular socket, a series of clip sleeves clamped to the vertical standard at suitable distances apart, a series of brackets provided with legs designed to fit between the clip sleeves and the standard and to be clamped thereto, and radially projecting arms forming guards for the sockets as hereinafter more articularly described in the following speci- "cation.
Figure 1, is a general perspective view of my stand. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view. Fig. 3 is a plan section. Fig. 4 is a detail of one of the holding clips and the brackets secured thereby.
In the drawings like letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in each figure.
A is the base formed by the central socket A and the radially projecting feet A.
B is the vertical standard provided with the upper and lower collars B and B secured thereto. The lower end of the standard B fits within the socket A and the collar rests on' the top of the socket. The standard B is free to turn in the socket A.
O are a series of clip split sleeves provided with lugs O clamped together by the bolts C (see Fig. 4).
with a collar forming a- D are a series of brackets formed preferably of wire bent into an annular portion D j with the lip D formed therein against which i the goods rest, and the radial arms D formed with right angular extensions D designed to extend down between the standard and sleeve C by which they are clamped to the standard B.
E and E are radial arms extending from the upper and lower collars B and B and E are vertical rods connecting the outer end of the arms together. These rods form guards lor the brackets D and also serve as handles by which the standard may be turned when displaying and inspecting the goods.
From this description it will be seen that I have provided a simple, cheap and durable stand for display of various classes ol" goods, which will also be compact occupying a very small amount of [1001' space and on which the brackets may be readily adjusted to suit the various classes of goods designed to be exhibited thereby.
l V hat I claim as my invention is:
1. A display stand comprising a base formed by a central tubular sleeve and radial arms forming feet for the base, a central standard having collars secured thereto, arms extending from the collars, rods connecting the ends of the arms, a series o l clamping sleeves secured on the standard and a series of brackets provided with legs designed to be clamped to the standard by the j clamping sleeves, as and for the purpose specified. l l l l l 2. A display stand comprising a base por tion having a central socket a central standard supported .in the socket, brackets adjustably secured thereon, an upper and lower series of radial arms extending from the standard and rods connecting the upper and as and for the purpose specified.
