Specification of Le tters Patent.
Patented May 5, 1908.
Application filed August 2, 1907. Serial No. 386,842.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WALTHER GOSMANN, a subject of the Emperor of Germany, and a resident of 1- Alfredstrasse, Essen-on-the Ruhr, Germany, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Aluminum Alloys, of which the following is a specifica- The content of copper in the alloy may vary between 7 and 8.5% and the content of till may varv between 4.5 and 5.5%.
The alloy according to the present invention can be easily cast. The castings are com letely homogeneous and have rela-f tive y high rigidrt ;they can be easily Worked and the finis ed articles have a beautiful, lustrous appearance.
Having thus described the invention, What is claimed and (lesiredto secure by Letters Patent is:
An alloy comprising about 87% of aluminum, about 8% of copper and about 5% of tin.
The foregoing specification signed at Di'isseldorf, Germany, this seventeenth (lay of July, 1907.
VVALTHER GOSMANN.
