What I claim is:
1. In a centrifugal pump or tho like. the combination with a casing having n discharge passage therein, of' an impellvr, and an' ilidel-)endent distributor, having guide vanes or ribs, secu-red in operative relation to said impeller by said casing, said distributor extending outwardly beyond said vanos or l ribs and forming a wall oi' said discharge passage. I 2. In a centrifugal pumpor the like, tlu` combination with a casing-having n dis-V charge passage therein, of an` impcllcr, andV an independent distributor, having guich` vanos or ribs, said distributor extending out wardly beyond said vanes or ribs, and lorming in effect n. wall of said discharge passage.
3. In a centrifugal pump or tho likcytho combination with a pump casing, ol' :in impeller, and an independent distributor snpported by said pump casing, sziid distri buter intervenlng between said casing and the intake of said impoller.

combination with the pump casing, of an impeller, a shaft, and'means for securing said impeller upon said shaft in alinement with said v ump lcasing comprising akey permitting ongitudinal movement of said impeller,

o 7. In a centrifugal pump or the like, the combination with the pump casing, of an impeller-,a shaft, and means for vsecuring saidl impeller on said shaft and in'alinement with said ump casing comprising a key permitting ongltudinal movement of said impeller,
collars secured to said shaft, the impeller hub located between said collars, a bushing screw threaded uponv the'periphery of each collar and engaging the impeller hub, and a stuiling box forming a water-tight connection between said bushing and said pump casing.
8. In a centrifugal pump or the like, the combination with the pump casing, of a dis.-
charge passage therein, an impeller, and an independent distributer embracing said impeller and intervening between said impeller a'ndsaid dischar e passage.
9. In,a centri ugal pump or thellike, the combination with the pump'casing, of a discharge passage therein, an impeller, and an independent distributersuplported by said pump casing at approximate diameter of said distributer, said impeller having a running fit with said distributer in a -region approximate the minimum diameter of said distributer.
10. In a centrifugal pump or the like, the combination with the pump casing, of a discharge passagetherein, an impeller, and an independent distributer supported by 'said pump casing in a region a roximate the minimum diameter of said lstributer, said distributer extending to the intake of said impeller and engaging said casing in a region approximate the minimum diameter of said dlstributer and forming, in effect, a wall of said discharge passage.
