Be it known that I, MILFORD E. J EWETT, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Keokuk, in the county of Lee and State of Iowa, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bag-Ties, of which the followin is a full, clear, and exact description, I'EIGI'GIIGG being had to the accom- Eanying drawing, forming part of this specication.
My invention relates to a tie i or closing the mouths of money bags or for application to packages of other descriptions and it has for its object to provide in ccnnection with a tie of this character a tag or label produced as an integral part of the tie and adapted to bear an inscription designating the place at which the package was originally tied and sealed in the usual manner, whereby. the tag or label serves as a safe guard to revent the substitution of a new tie -by a dis ionest person after opening the package without the fact of the package having been opened beingdetectm This ap lication is a division from my application or U. 1 designates my bag tie whiehis preferably made of apiece of cord of textile material but which may be made of any other material that is susceptible of being woven.
2 designates a tag or label that may be of any desirable material, for instance fabric, and which is provided with a connecting vpiece. 3 that is attached to the tie by weaving it thereinto as illustrated in Fig. ll, wlwrcby the tag is rendered an integral partof the tie and cannot be withdrawn or separated themfrom.
In Fig. III I have shown a modification in which 1 is the tie, 2 the tag and 3 the connecting piece which is made separate from the tag which is applied to it in a manner so that the parts cannot be separated and which connecting )iece, preferably in the form of wire or cord, is interwoven into the tie in a manner to prevent its being withdrawn or se )arated therefrom.
The tag or label constituting a part of my bag tie is designed to bear an inscription or inscriptions of any desirable nature, such as the name of a bank or other concern by which the tie is a lied to a money bag for the pur ose of holi ing it in a closed condition ant sealed in such condition by the application of a suitable seal, such as indicated at A, Fig. I to the tie.
