nuzmtoz wifnuoeo CHARLES. A. FULLER, OF ll/IANZANOLA, COLORADO.
i- T0011 whom it mayv concern: a t-"known that I, CHARLES A. FULLER, cltlzellfllith Uliited States, residing at Man- Zanola, in the county of Otero'and State of Colorado, have invented'certain new and use --ful Improvements in Posts, of which the fol lowing is aspecification. v
This lnvention 1s a post or pole for fences and electric conductors andhas for its object to produce a light and strong metallic post,
and also improved means for fastening the fence wires thereto if the post is used for a fence. r
In the accompanying drawing Fi ure 1 is a front elevation partly in section s owing a fence-post constructed in accordance with my invention. I Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof. Fig.3 is a horizontal section on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1. Fig. 4 isa front elevation of a post or pole for electric circuit wires, Fig. 5 is a side elevation thereof. Fig. 6 is a section on the line 66 of Fig. 4.
In the drawings 7 denotes a post which is a .V-shaped angle-bar made slightly tapering toward its top. The lower end of the post is embedded in a base 8 of cement or other plastic material. The top of the base is made sloping so that it will shed water. Barbs 9 are struck up from that portion of the post which is embedded in the base to increase its hold thereon. Above the ground, the post is reinforced by a V-shaped angle bar 10 which fits in the angle of the bar 7. The two angle bars are clamped together by eye-bolts 11- secured by nuts 12. The eye portions of the bolts enter the angle of the bar 10 and fit snugly therein and the nuts 12 engage the apex of the bar 7.
The fence-wires 13 are placed between the two bars 7 and 10 and are securely held in place when the bolts 11 are tightened up which bends the wire so that it cannot slip, and at the same time takes up slack in the wire, and no ties or other fastening means are required. The eye-bolts can also be used for supporting a lightning-arrester.

' POST.
Patented March 3, 190 8.
The post shown in Figs. 4 to 6 is for supporting electric circuit Wire's. Its construction is the same as the fence-post heretofore described with the exception that it is also providedwith means for supporting the insulatorins. Such means comprise a crossarm 14 aving at its top edge a horizontally and outwardly presented flange 15. The arm is secured to the post by a clip 16 which passes around the rear of the post and through the cross-arm, and is secured in front thereof by nuts 17. -A V-shaped brace for" the arm is also em loyed, said brace being The insulator-pins.are secured to the face of the cross-arm and their stems 20 pass through holes in the flange 15. ,The post proper and its reinforcing bar are secured by 3' eye-bolts 21 in the same'm'anner as the fencepost heretofore described in order that a support may be had for the conductor of a light ning-arrester. 4
By the construction herein described a post is had which is light and at the same time strong and durable, and which can be cheaply and easily produced. Smooth, barbed, or any kind of wire-netting can beused on the fenceost and it will be securely held in place y the clamping means herein described.
I claim: v
A post comprising -a V-shaped bar, a V- shaped reinforcement bar fitting in the angle of the first mentioned bar, eye-bolts passing through the bars for clamping them together,
and nuts screwed on said bolts and engaging the apex of the first mentioned bar, the eye portion of the bolts fitting in the angle of the reinforcement bar.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature, in presence of two witnesses.
CHARLES A. FULLER.
