ARTHUR D. MARCOTTE, CHURCH POlNT, LOUISIANA ononE-orr. BURNER.
To} all it may concern:
Be it-lrnown that I, An'rnun D. Manoor'rn; a'citizen of theUnited State s, residing at Church Point; in the parish'of Acadia and State of Louisiana, have invented a newand. useful Improvement in Crude-OilBurners,
of which the iollowing is a specification.
My invention is an improved form of vapor generator and burnerparticularly adapted for: the consumption 'oi'crudefor heavy oil. The construction off the burner is'as hereinafter described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which y t Figure ;1 is in part'a side view, and in part a vertical tioli, of my improved burner. Fig. 2 is a cross section on the line 2 -2 oflfig. -1;
The body of the burner and generator is formed of a tube bent into U-shape, and arranged horizontally with vertical one-leg, or part, of the tube vertically over the other.
The upper leg or tube is. indicated bythe numeral 1 th e lower one by the numeral 2. The latter hasa series or nipplesor' orifices 3 arranged on the upper side, but preferably not directly below the leg or tube 1.
I Above the U-shape generator and burner is arranged a I tube! which is connected with .the upper legl of the 7-in'dicates able source of supply (not shown) and attached to the end of the upper leg or tube of one of the generators. 8 "indicates an air-pipe connected with an air-pump, or
U-shapeburner by means of a-small tube 5. It is also connected with the lower leg, .or tube, 2,.by along pipe 6 whichis connected with the upper side of the'cham ber4.
an oil pipewhich is connected with a suitcompressed-air tank (not shown).
i "In operation, air under pressure is forced through the pipe induces'a current of oil in the pipe 7 which Specification. of Letters'Patent. Application filed November 23. 1906. .Serial No. 344-713- PatentedNov. 12, 19 07.
is thereby carried into the upper leg,- or tujb'el of'the burner. small fire of shavings or wood kindlings beand'gen erator 1 2. whereby the same is heated'to'a degree which vaporizesthe main portion of the oil, the
