The water fed into the boiler by my improved apparatus is sometimes heavily charged with impurities,
but be that'as it may, I have found that by using certain chemicals the water may be so treated as to overcome the formation of incrustation or other scale upon theinterior of the boiler. I have also found that my invention will satisfactorily remove from boilers any incrustation or scale formed thereupon prior to the use of my apparatus. To accomplish-such results -the chemicals should bethoroughly intermingled with the water and to'insure this-thorough intermingling of the chemicals and water I formthe balls 11 hollow that they may be adapted to carry the chemicals,- and I provide each ball with a perforation 14 through which chemicals may be inserted and through. which the chemicals may be discharged from the ball due to the centrifugal action of the balls in operation.
