BATH-TUB AND SPRINKLER ATTACHMENT.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Oct. 1, 1907.
Application filed December 21,1906. Serial No. 349,004.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OLIVER O. BRANT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Danville, in the county of Vermilion and State of Illinois, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Bath-Tubs and Sprinkler Attachments, of which the following is a specification.
The object of my invention is to provide a simple and improved construction of bath tub and shower attachment therefor, and the invention consists of certain constructions and arrangements of parts hereinafter described and claimed.
For a full understanding of the invention and the merits thereof and also to acquire a knowledge of the details of construction and the means for effecting the result, reference is to be had to the following description and accompanying drawings, in which:
Figure 1 is a rear perspective view of my improved bath tub and shower attachment. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the tub.
Corresponding and like parts arereferred to in the following description and indicated in all the views of the drawings by the same reference characters.
The tub of my invention is provided with a cylindrical body 1 and with a flared circular rim 2 formed with an upstanding crescent shaped back rest 3. 4 designates a brace which is composed of two right angle members, as shown, one of which is designed to a reservoir 5 of any desired size and shape, to which is secured the faucet 6, and a rose or spray attachment 7 secured to the outlet end of the said faucet, as shown.
in an elevated position above the tub, I provide, in the present instance, three straps 8, 9 and 10. The strap 8 is secured to the upright member of the angular brace 4, the strap 9 is secured to the rear side of the crescent shaped back rest 3, and the strap 10 is secured to the reservoir 5. Preferably, the straps 8 and 10 are tapered longitudinally, and a rod support 11 is inserted through the strap 9 and has its corresponding shaped ends fitted in the straps 8 and 10, so as to securely, but detachably, hold the reservoir at the proper elevation above the tub to provide a shower bath.
It is evident that my improvement may be used for watering flowers, as the flower pots may be placed in the bottom of the tub and the faucet then turned on to spray the flowers, while the flowers will at the same time soak the water up from the bottom also.
the accompanying drawings, it will be seen that I have provided a very simple construction of bath tub with removable shower attachment, which. may be cheaply manufactured and which will be durable.
Having-thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is:
A bathtub provided with a flared rim and with an upstanding back rest at the outer edge of the rim, an angular brace secured to the bottom of the tub and to the rim at a point midway of the back rest and the vertical member of the brace and the back rest being each provided with a strap, said straps being located in vertical alinement, a rod designed to extend through a strap of the back rest with its lower end fitted in the strap of the brace, and :1 reservoir provided with a shower attachment and supported in an elevated position by said rod.
In testimony whereof I ailix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
OLIVER C. BRANT. [L. s.]
Witnesses I JOHN S. Boson, CHARLES Din'rz.
From the foregoing description in connection with.
In order to detachably hold the shower attachment
