To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, Srvnnr MOE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook, State of Illinois have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Gonveyer-Strippcrs, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad therein to the accompanying drawing.

This invention relates to a conveyer stripper, and particularly to a device for removing from the conveyer the goods carried thereby.

An object oi'the invention is .to provide a movable stripper adapted to be actuated by a traveling conveyer to remove the goods thereon.

A iurtherobject of the invention is to provide a novel and improved construction of such a stripper pivotally mounted to be engaged by a portion of the conveyor and automatically operated thereby so that the stripper will traversc'the goods supporting device of the conveyer and remove the articles suspended therefrom.

Other and further objects and advantages of the invention will be hereinaitcr set forth and the novel leaiurcs thereof defined by the appended claims.

Like numerals refer to like parts in the several views of the drawing.

The numeral 1 designates the track or way which may be, of any desired character and suspended by' usual in the art of laundry dry rooms, and is provided 'at proper intervals with the goods supporting links 8 having depending therefrom hangers 9 which at their lower ends are supplied with carrier pins 10. These hangers are formed intermediate ol' the links 8 and the pins 10 with the open socket 11 adapted to receive the stop bar 12 which is provided intermediate of its ends with a reduced portion ]3 adapted to seat in the recess 1]. for the purpose of actuating any desired construction of power transmitting mechanism to stop the movement of the carrier when desired. One form of this mechanism may comprise the depending arm 14 provided with the inwardly extending lug 15 adapted to be engaged by the stop bar 12, and the crank arm 16 therefrom which by means of therod 17 extends to the proper-shifting mechanism to cut off the power for the conveyer. This lever 14 is also provided with the op erating handle 18 by which the mechanism may be operated by hand. The hangers 9 from the links 8 are provided with laterally extending arms 19 in which the carrier pins 10 are mounted and preierably held against movement by being extended across the back of the arm, shown at 20 and again inserted therethrough as at 32' where they are headed and thus held in position as shown in Fig. 7.

One form of stripper mechanism as herein shown comprises the rotating member 21, as shown in Figs.

3 and 5, this member being duplicated at opposite sides of the carrier and supported in the lower end of the frame 22, shown in Fig. 3. This frame is secured to the track in any preferred manner, [or instance by bolting thereto, as shown at 23. Each of the strippers is similar in operation, therefore one will be described in detail. The stripper is provided with the pivoting lugs 24 disposed at opposite sides of the yoke 22, and one of these lugs is provided with the depending member 25 having at its free end the stripping head 26 with the slot 27 therein adapted to embrace. and traverse the finger 10 in the movement of the finger through the stripper during the simultaneous movement of the stripper. The opposite lug 2-4 is provided with a standard 28 rising therefrom provided with the operating head 29 which is adapted to be engaged by one of the lugs 30 disposed-at each side of the hanger S), and the stripper is thus oscillated upon its axis so to traverse the pin 10 and remove the goods therefrom, shown by dotted lines in Fig. 2. In order to guide the hangers 9 into proper relation with the operating heads 29, plates 31 are supported by the opposite sides of the hangers 22 and have a tapering entrance through which the hangers from the carrier chaiu pass and are brought'into proper alineinent to actuate the strippers. In the present form of the invention two strippers are supported by each hanger and extend therefrom parallel to the chain, but it is obvious that a single .pin and stripper may be used and disposed in any desired position orrelation to the chain so as to be actuated by the same in its travel to. remove the goods from the hangers carried thereby.

In the operation of the invention it will be seen that the hangers from the conveyer in their movement toward the left, as indicated in Fig. 1, pass between the guide plates 31 and then engage the strippers so as to oscillate the lower end of the same upward and remve the goods from the pins, as indicated by dotted lines in Fig. 2, while in the movement of the carrier the power may be cut off therefrom when any particular lot of goods has been finished by inserting one of the tion embraces broadly the use of a movable stripper in' connection with a traveling conveyer to remove. the goods therefrom.

Having described my invention and set forth its merits, what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
