The Schedule referred to in these Letters Patent and making part of the same` To all whom 'it ma/y concern: 4 y
Be it known that I, JAMES D. FRARY, of New Britain,
county of Hartford, and State of Conueeticut,.have invented certain new and useful Improvements inthe lyianufacture of Buts; and to enable others skilled in the art `to make and use the same, I will proceed to describe its construction, referring tothe letters marked thereon, indicating like parts in each of the ligures.
The nature Aof this invention -in the manufacture of buts, in contradstinction' to thoseheretofore made,

c'rc are ornamental projectiousor acor'us,one1of which is cast on to the end of lthe joint. The other is cast on to the loose-joint pin d, by means of which the pin d can be easily withdrawn and replaced at pleasure.
By means of this invention a loose-joint and' right and left-hand but is' produced; and a door hnngrtherewith can be more easily and quickly removed'and replaced;- cheap of manufacture, rich, and more desirable for trade and use.
I believe I have thus shown the natlnje, construction, and advantage of this invention, so as to enable others skilled in the-art to make and use the same therefrom.
What I claim, therefore, and desire to secure by- Letters Patent, is-
The cast but,consisting of lthe parts a, b c, and d, constructed in the manner herein described, as an imf proved article of manufacture.
