the purpose of-,the invention is especially to furnish a protector for the exposed corners of concrete curbs to prevent their being injured by ordinary use or by the impact of heavy bodies, such as the wheels of vehicles.

During construction of the curb, the riosing will be temporarily held in position and .alnement any suitable manner, and the concrete will be poured, packed, and tarnped firmly up behind the nosing and around the anchor. When the concrete sets the nosing will be "securely held thereto by the anchor as Well as by the' rust joint between the concrete and the metal, as .de-u scribed in my United States Letters Patent numbered 578,668, dated March 9, 1899.
