To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, RAPHAEL E. EBERsoLn, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Roanoke, in the county of Huntington and State of Indiana, have invented new and useful Improvements in Garment-Supporters, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to garment supporters, more especially designed for use in securing an infants dia per in place, and to provide means whereby the safety pins are retained in position for immediate use, and cannot get misplaced or lost.

Another object of the invention is to provide a device for the purpose referred to which shall be simple in construction, which can be produced at slight cost, and which will be efficient for the purpose for which it is designed.

Still another object of the invention is to provide a strap or band with loops therein for securing safety pins in proper position for use in holding the diaper upon an infant, means being provided whereby new pins may be substituted for injured ones, and in which a pad may be secured to the strap or band to protect the body of the wearer, and in which a cushion is provided for holding the pins when changing the diaper,

These and other objects may be attained by means of the construction illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 isa front elevation of a supporter made in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a detail view showing a rear elevation of the band, which is broken away, and manner of securing the large safety pin in place thereon.

Referring to the drawing for a more particular description of my invention, the numeral 1 designates a strap or band having a loop 2 at its upper end formed by securing the terminal end of the strap or band to the body thereof by stitches or other suitable means. Secured by the same stitches or fastening means is a pad 3, and a safety pin 4 is secured to the loop by passing the main bar of the pin through said loop, as shown in Fig. 1, thus leaving the pin member5 in position to be easily operated, and connected to the cap or sheaf 6. On the band 1 is a cushion 7. The lower end of the band 1 is provided with a loop 8, formed by doubling the end of the material over and securing the same by stitches or other suitable fastening means, which serve also to secure the folded portion of the branch strap or band 9 in place. A saftey pin 10 is secured in the loop 8 in a manner similar to that referred to with relation to the pin 4. At the ends of the branch strap 9, loops 11 are provided, and safety pins 12 are secured in said loops in position to give free access to the pin members 13. The loops 2, 8, and 11, are of such size that pins may be readily connected thereto to take the place of injured or broken ones.

The manner of using my supporter may be briefly described as follows: The pin portion 5 of the safety pin 4 is connected to the infants undergarment upon the front side, the pad 3 serving to prevent the pin from injuring the wearer. The pin 10 is used to engage the terminal ends of the diaper, and the pins 12 are secured to the lower edges of the diaper to hold the same firmly in place. Whenever it is required to change the diaper, the pins 10 and 12 are engaged in the cushion 7, thus holding them out of the way and permitting them to be quickly accessible for securing the diaper in whenever required,

From the foregoing it will be obvious that a supporter made in accordance with my invention is of very simple construction, can be produced at slight cost, is convenient in use, does not result in the loss of pins, and is safe against injury to the wearer.

A supporter of the character described comprising a band having a loop in one end thereof and a pad secured under said loop, a safety pin secured in said loop. a cushion on said band, the opposite end of said band being provided with a loop, and branch straps secured to said band by the stitches which form the loop, a pin secured in the last mentioned loop, loops formed at the ends of the branch straps safety pins secured in said loops, substantially as described.
