Description
N0. 868,65b. PATENTED AUG. 20, 1907. A. B. RUSH.
WINDOW SHADE GUIDE,
APPLIULATION FILED DEO.22,1905.
* Quorum ARMINDABEHATRIGE RUSH, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
WINDOW-SHADE GUIDE Speeificatioi of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 20.1907.
Original application filed .Tun'e 5, 1905, Serial No. 263,801. Divided and this application filed December 22, 1906. Serial No. 349,096.
The invention consists of a guide formed of a single i piece of metal bent upon itself to form a front and a back plate, the upper and lower edges of the front plate being bent outwardly and the upper and lower edges of the back plate being rolled over to form sleeves.
ln the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective view showing my device 1n use, Fig. 2 is en enlarged sectional view on the line 22 of Fig. 1, Figs. 3
and 4 are detail perspective views of the front and rear faces respectively of one of the guides, Fig. 5 is a sectional view on the line 55 of Fig. 6, Fig. 6 is anledge view of a guide showing the position the shade stick occupies when raised to its highest point, Fig. 7 is a detail view of the blank from which the guides are formed.
In the drawingsA represents my guide and B the blank metal from which the guides are made. blank B is bent centrally upon itself into substantiallv a U shape thereby forming between its two faces a guideway A and the guide thus formed has a front face 0 and a rear face D. The face C of the guide has its up per and lower edges beveled to bend outwardly as at C( thereby preventing the said edges from coming into direct contact with the shade and injuring the same when moved up and down between the two faces. The rear face D has its upper and-lower marginal portions bent over to form sleeves D which sleeves form guideways through which nails E can be passed for the purpose of securing the guide in. position. The lower sleeve D and the lower beveled edges C also form a stop for the shade. stick E as shown in Fig. 6,
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is: v
1. A shade guide formed of a piece of metal hent upon itself to fcrin a front and rear face, opposite edges of the rear face being rolled over to form sleeves. and opposite edges of the front face being beveled as and for the purpose setv forth.
2. A shade guide substantially U shape, the front face having its upper and lower portions bent outwardly and the rear face having its upper and lower edges rolled over to form guides for a fastening means.
I AllZiIINDA BEATRICE RUSH.
