POP-PISTOL.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented Aug. 13, 1907.
App ication filed July 20,1906. Serial No. 327,066.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILHEIAI JERGER. manul'at-turer. a subject of the German Emperor, and a resident oi Villingen. Germany, have invented new and useful Improvements in Pop-Pistols, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved toy pop pistol.
The hereinafter described invention is illustrated in the accompanying drawing. wherein,
Figure l is a side View of the pistol. and Fig. 2 a section.
The pistol consists of the barrel 1 with percussion pin 2 guided therein by the two disks 3 and 4, the disk 3 closing the barrel 1 at the rear end. The disk 4 is rigidly fixed to the barrel near the muzzle oi the latter. Fitted inside the barrel 1 is a spiral spring 5. one end of which presses against the disk 4 and the other end against the disk 6 which is fixed to the percussion pin 2.
Upon the trigger 7 being pulled back, the spring 5 presses the percussion pin out of the barrel 1 through the disk 3. A plug 8 provided on its inner side with a central percussion cap and a small explosive charge. is fitted in the muzzle. On the hammer being released from a cocked position by pulling the trigger it strikes the head 9 of the rod 2 and iinpels the latter forward against the resistance of the spring 5 and tires the charge eontained in the wad.
Having fully described my invention. what I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
In a pop pistol. the combination of the barrel with a disk fixed inside said barrel near the muzzle. a rod. guided in said disk and at the rear of the barreL a disk fixed to the rod. :1 spring situated between the said disks to hold the rod in retracted position, and a spring actuated hammer and trigger to impel the rod forward against the re sistanee of its spring to fire the charge. fitted in the muzzle of the barrel. substantially as described and shown and for the purpose set forth.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
W'ILHELM JERGER.
