Be it known that I, LUTHER FORSYTH, a

citizen of the United States, residing at Hagerstown, in the county of Washington and State of Maryland, have invented new and useful Improvements in 'Drawing Kits, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to improvements in drawing kits which comprises a drawing board and T-square; and the object of the invention is to construct a board and square in a manner as hereinafter set forth so that one will associate with the other to provide means for securing to one face of the board angles, curves and other drafting appliances,

card-board and other objects for the purpose of transportation, packing away and overcoming the necessity of providing boxes for or the carrying of the appliances in the pocket.

With the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more specifically described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings wherein is shown the preferred embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, modifications and variations can be resorted to which come within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.

In describing the invention in detailreference is had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters. denote corresponding parts throughout the several views and in which- Figure 1 is an inverted plan of a drawing kit in accordance with this invention; Fig. 2 is a section on line 2-2 of Fig. 1; Fig. 3 is a section on line 3-3 of Fig. 1; Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the board with asquare and angle applied thereto, and, Fig. 5 1s a perspective view with the board in an upright position.

Referring to the drawings by reference characters, 6 and 7 denote supports for the board 8. The topedges of the su ports are beveled, as at 9, so that the boar 8 will extend at an inclination. The tops of the su orts 6-7 are dovetailed, as at 10 in the ower face of the board 8. Each of the supports 6-7 is provided with rectangular slots 11 near the top thereof and through which is adapted to extend the blade of the T-square 12 for a pur ose to be hereinafter referred to.

At one si e of the support 6 a retaining lug 13 is secured to the lower face of the board 8 and upon which is mounted angles or curves 13, these latter being secured in osition by the blade of the square 12 when t e latter is extended through the slots 11 as shown in Fig-. 2. The blade of the square 12 is also adapted to retain in osition a sheet of cardboard 14 which can e used for cutting geometrical figures. The angles, curves and card-board are provided with an opening-so they can be mounted upon the lug 13. When the blade of the square 12 is in the position shown in Fig. 2 it is adapted to be secured in such position through the medium of a dowel 15 having a beveled top 16 and which is secured to the lower face of the board 6 at the outer side of the support 7.- The dowel 15 is adapted to have the free end of the blade of the T-square 12 sna there-over and toprovide for such the b ade of the T-square 12 near its free end is provided with an opening 17.

What I claim is- 1. A drawing board provided with supports having rectangular slots, a lug secured to the board and arranged-in proximity to one of the slots and adapted to have mounted thereon drafting appliances, a dowel arranged in proximity to the other of the slots and a T-square extending through the slots, over the lug, and adapted to take in the dowel thereby retaining in position the appliances mounted upon the lug.

2. A drawing board provided with supports having slots, a lug carried by the board and adapted to have drafting appliances mounted thereon, a T square extending through the slots and over the lug for retaining the drafting ap liances against the board, means carried by the board and engaging the T-square to prevent shifting thereof.

3. A drawing board having supports therefor, means carried by the board for receiving drafting appliances, means extending through the supports for retaining the drafting ap liances against the board, and means carrie by the board and engaging said retaining means to prevent the shifting thereof.
