Be it known that l, Enrrn LANOUETTE, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bosi ton, county of Suffolk, Stateoi Massachusetts, have invented an Improvement, in Drawers, oi which the following description, in conn( ction with the accompanying drawing, is a speciiication, like letters on the drawings representing like parts. i

This invention relates to drawers for women andchildiien, and es 1pecially to the class ot drawers known as "c osed drawers,

of this class which is more comfortable than. closed drawers as ordinarily maden-, Mywimproyedidrawers are made witha yoke portion which extends entirely around thewaist Ithereof, and which is shaped to t the waist "and hips of the'wearer, said yoke portion being'divided vertically at either the rontor rear, but preferably at the rear.

The necessary openin in the .drawers is provided for by making t enrwith a lap, the upper edge of which'is detachably secured to the lower edge of the yoke portion. By making the drawers with the yoke` portion which snugly iits thev hips the garment can upper garment without any such wrinkling, puckering, or gathering oi" the portion of the drawers underlying the corset as to befunf comfortable, and vthe necessity of' awast- Via-ted. The yoke portion is of such a depth that the upper edge of the flap comes below the overlying corset, waist, or other upper garment, so that said flap may beconveniently opened.

^ ln the drawings, Figure l is a front View of a pair of drawers embodying my improvements, and Fig. 2 is a rear View thereof.

The top of the drawers is made with. a yoke 3, which extends completely around the garment, said yoke portion being shaped to iit over the hips of the wearer, so that when the drawers are on said yoke portion is smooth and without wrinkles. The yoke is divided, either at the. front or rear, but preferably at the rear, as shown at Il, and the two meetin 'ends of the yoke may be detachably secure together in any suitable way, as by means of hooks or buttons, buttons 5 being shown in this embodiment of my invention. Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
