Description
PATENTED JUNE 4, 1907.

STOVE LEG FASTENING. APPLICATION FILED MAR. 26, 1907.
LASSAR J. GRINBERG, or NEW YORK, N. Y.
STOVE-LEG FASTENING- Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented June 4, 1907.
Application filed March 26, 1907' Serial N- 364,593-
To all whmn it may concern:
Be it known that I, LASSAR J. GRINBERG, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York city, Manhattan, county and State of New York, have invented new and useful Improvements in Stove-Leg Fastening-s, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to simple and reliable means for removably attaching the legs to the base-plate of gas, oil and other stoves.
In the accompanying drawing: Figure 1 is a vertical section, partly in side view, of my improved stove leg fastening; Fig. 2 a bottom view of part of the base-plate, showing one member of the fastening; Fig. 3 a section through the fastening complete, on line 33, Fig. 2 Fig. 4 a similar section on line 44, Fig. 2, and Fig. 5 a perspective view of the top of a stove leg, showing the second member of the fastening.
The base-plate of the stove has a circumferential downwardly extending flange 11. Near each corner there is cast on the bottom of the base-plate a socket 12, set in an oblique direction with relation to the base-plate. This socket has a diagonal slot 13 and a projection 14 opposite said slot. The socket opens toward the corner of, the base-plate and constitutes the first member of the fastening.
The stove leg 15 has an upper flange 16, from the corner of which projects inwardly a lug 17 having a diagonal slot 18, such lug against flange 11 of plate 10, and its slot. 18
embracing projection 14. Slot 18 becoming thus alined with slot 13, bolt 19 will pass also through the former, its exposed free end being finally engaged by a nut 21, which securely locks the leg to the base plate. It will be seen that by the means described a reliable fastening is provided which permits the leg to be readily attached and removed, and is entirely invisible when the stove is in its normal position.
I claim:
In a stove leg fastening, a flanged stove plate having a slotted socket and a projection on the socket, combined with a flanged stove leg having a slotted lug adapted to embrace said projection, and with a bolt enga ing the socket and lug, substantially as speci 'ed.
Signed by me at New York city, (Manhattan,) N. Y., this 25th day of March, 1907.
LASSAR J. GRINBERG.
