Our invention relates to improvements in display-fixtures, and more particularly to a revolving notion-rack for use in holding and displaying cards containing various kinds of.

merchandisesuch as buttons, buckles, beads, jewelry, safety-pins, &c.also for holding or supporting small boxes, cartons, bottles, and similar articles.

The object of the invention is to provide a simple, practical, and inexpensive device of this character by means of Which merchandise may be conveniently supported and effectively displayed.

l/Vith the above and other objects in view the invention consists in certain novel fea-' tures of construction, combination, and arrangement of parts, as will be hereinafter described and claimed.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a front elevation of the improved device. Fig. 2 is a sectional View on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a detail horizontal section on the line 3 3 of Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is an enlarged sectional detail illustrating the con struction of the transverse bearing members and also showing a section of an adjustable shelf supported thereon. Fig. 5 is a perspec tive view of a portion of an adjustable shelf illustrated in Fig. 4. Fig. 6 is a detail view illustrating modifications in the manner of sustaining the bearing members. Fig. 7 is a view similar to Fig. 4 and illustrating another modified form of a supporting-shelf. Fig. 8 is a perspective view of a portion of the modified shelf illustrated in Fig. 7.

The improved device comprises a body portion 10 of any required size and preferably in a flat or plate-like form and mounted for rotation upon a stud 11, supported in a base 12.

Attached to the side edges of the body 10 are supporting members formed from strips of sheet metal 13 with the edges bent inwardly at opposite sides of the body to overhang the same and form ribs or flanges 14 15 parallel with the body and spaced therefrom.

The ribs or flanges are designed to support a plurality of holding devices for supporting the merchandise to be displayed (represented as a whole at 22) and formed by bending and folding the longitudinal edges of a strip of sheet metal inwardly from opposite sides, as at 16 17, and then bending the remaining portions of the strips outwardly at reverse angles, as at 18 19, whereby longitudinal channels 20 21 are formed in the opposite sides of the strip to provide supporting means for the edges of cards or similar de vices upon which the goods to be displayed are mounted, as hereafter described.

At their ends the holding members 22 are provided with suitable means for coupling adjustably to the flanges 14 15, and in Figs. 1, 2, and 3 these holding means are shown in theform of clips 23, having recesses to engage the flanges 14 15 and secured in position by set-screws 24. By this means it will be obvious that the members 22 may be adjusted upon the flanges 14 15 to space their adjacent edges at any required distance apart, and thus accommodate the other channels 20 21 to any required length of card or supporting member. The flanges 14 15 are preferably provided with spaced indicating-lines 25 26 to facilitate the adjustment of the supporting members.

In Fig. 6 a'modified means for attaching the members 22 to the flanges 14 15 is shown, consisting in providing each flange with a plurality of spaced apertures, as at 27, and providing the ends of the members 22 with perforated clips 28 and utilizing split rings, as at 29', to couple the member 22 with the flange. This construction may be employed to support some forms of merchandise. The members 22 are also author- 'ized to support various forms of shelves or brackets upon which goods of certain kinds may be displayed, and these shelves may be employed instead of the adjustable cards or any conjunction therewith, as may be pre ferred.

In Figs. 4 and 5 an approved form of an adjustable shelf is shown, consisting in a shelf member 30, having one edge 31 turned downwardly and adapted to be disposed between one of the members 22 and the body 10, and thereby supported in. position, as represented in Fig. 4. The shelf member 30 is provided with lugs or clips extending therefrom at the ends, one of the clips being shown at 32 and adapted to bear over the clips 32 34.

In Figs. 7 and 8 another 1nodified-sup porting-shelf is shown, consisting ,in a leaf 36, having the inner edge turned downwardly,

as at 37, for bearing behind one of the supporting members 22 and with-the outer edge turned upwardly and formed, preferably, into a series of engaging curves 38, the latter adapted to support combs and similar goods.

It willbe obvious that the shelves36inay be arranged in any desired form to accom- ,modate different kinds of goods, such as hottles, cartons, and the like.

It ,will be obvious that a simplyconstruct edand convenient holdingdevice is produced adapted for use in retail stores of various kinds for displaying various kinds of goods, such as cardsof buttons, safety-pins, buckles, jewelry, and the like, orbottles of perfumery, toilet goods, and similar.commodities.

Any number of supporting members 22 may be employedandspacedat any required distances apartand of any length.

Having thus described our invention, what is claimed as new is-- 1. A device of the class described comprising a body having spaced guide membersat its side edges the edges of said members being bent in substantially parallel with the body, holding members disposed transversely of said body, and means for adjustably connecting said holding members to the guide members.

2. A device of the class described compris ing a body member, guide members at the side edges of said body, a plurality of supporting members having longitudinal chan nels in their opposite edges for supporting card-like structures, and means for adjustably coupling said supporting members to said guide members.

A device of the class described. compris ing a body, guide members at the side edges of said body the edges of said members overhanging said body and at a distance therefrom, a plurality of supporting membersf 'members and body, and with guide-clips at the ends bearing over said shelf, an extension shelf member bearing beneath said guideclips and withclips atthe ends bearing beneath said shelf member and with the outer edge of the adjustable shelf member turned upwardly to form a guard thereto.

5. A device of the class described comprising a body mounted-for rotation, guide members atth'e side edges of said body, the edges of said members overhanging the opposite sides of said body, a plurality of supporting members having longitudinal channels, and means for .adjustably coupling said support ing members at the opposite sides of said body.

6. A device of the class described comprising a body, guide members at the side edgesv of the body, a plurality of supporting members each formed from a strip of metal folded upon itself at the opposite edges and with the outer portions bent outwardly at reverse angles to form longitudinal channels in the opposite edges of said supporting members, and means for adjustably coupling said supporting members to said guide members.
