new and Improved Wall-Paper, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description..
This invention relates particularly to improvements in borders for wall and ceilin decoration of the-class 1n WlIlCh festoons an other open-work effects are produced to dis-l close the body-paper at varlous points, the
object being to provide a border or ceiling of thls character in a continuous roll with blank fillings for the places eventually to be left open, thus giving sufficient stren th or rein-, force to the paper and permittlng of free handling and rolling of the paper without dan er of tearin the junction-lines between the blanks and the pattern bein e'rforated, so that said blanks may be rea y removed before the border is placed in position.
I will describe a wall-paper embodying my invention and then point out the novel features in theappended claims.
Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part of this specification, in which the figure shows a strip of wallpapier embodyinglmy invention.
' eferring to t e drawing, 1 designates a decorated border, and 2 the body-paper. As here shown, the border has decorated festoons 3, and it also has decorated effects 4 in Specification of Letters Patent. Application filed February a, 1906. Serial No. 299.317.
Patented Dec. 25, 1906.
its upper band 5. It is to .be understood, however, that the invention is not limited to any particular desi excepting such design as is eventuall to ave o enings to disclose the wall or bo y paper. lhese openings are shown at 6, and in the openings during the manufacture blanks 7 are arran ed. The junctions between the blanks and t p e pattern are formed by perforated lines 8, and obviousl theseblanks will materially strengthen the order before the same is desired for use. When the border is to be placed 11 on a wall, theblanks are to be torn out. T e perforations of course permit of easy removal.
Having thus described my, invention, I
- claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- 1. As a new article of manufacture, a wallpaper having an ornamental desi and removable portions arranged at-various points Within the design, the paper being perforated at the outlines of the removable portions.
2. As a new article of manufacture, a wallpaper having a plurality of perforations within its pattern, the said erforations forming the outlines of blanks to e removed.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this:specifioation in the presence of two subsorlbmg witnesses' 'JAooB J. JANEWAY.
