Be it known that I, GUsTAv HENSCH, a subject of the King of Prussia, German Einperor, residinv at Leipsic, Saxony, Germany, have invente new and useful Improvements in Phonographs, Grainophones, and Like lnstrunients7 of which thefollowing is a description. w

The present invention relates ,to phonographs and similar instruments; and its object is to locate the trumpet of these instruments so that it shall be out of the wayand less subject to damage and to injury of the other parts of the instrument bybeing run against or unintentionally'striicl,as often happens when the trumpet is arranged inthe exposed osition common to most apparatuses of the class hitherto known.

The invention -also comprisesi the connection of the diaphraUin-arm to the end ofthe trumpet, so as to allow of. the free movement of the latter when the trumpet is stationary.

In order to render the present s ecication easily intelligible., reference is ha tothe accompanying drawings, inwhich similar ,letters of reference denote similar parts throughi out both the views.

The phonograph or talking-machine coinpriscs a motor-casing a with record-supports thereon. Below the motor-casing there is a lower casing h, permanently `attached there` to and forming a support for said motor-casing, which rests uponsaine.
