APPLICATION runn'mn. 1905 s SEEMS-SHEET s.
.port to prevent se aration of the su ports and the drawer. his roller 17 is prefiirably arranged near the center of the drawer in order that it may sustain most of the weight thereof, a staple or projection 20 being provided near the rear of the drawer on either side thereof to operate in the longitudinal grooves 21 of the corresponding supports to L, prevent tilting of the drawer.
Forward motion of the drawer relatively 'to the'supports 9 is limited by the cooperatively-arranged aliutments 22 and 23,ar ranged, respectively, on the drawer and on the supports, and forward motion of the extension-supports relatively to the casing is limited by the relatively fixed abutment 24,
' which is arranged, preferably, on the guides 3 in such a position as tocooperate with the bracket 12, which carries the roller 13 of the will move in a straight line and cannot sag as it approaches the forward limit of its motion, as the rear ends of the movable supports are suspended by the rollers 13 and the forward portions are supported by the rollers 8, while the rollers 11, running on the lower track 5 of the guides, prevent the forward ends of the supports from tilting downward, the series of guiding-tracks thus formed positively limiting the vertical motion of the parts, and
by means of the guiding-grooves in the guides and supports lateral displacement of the various parts is positively prevented, unless the drawer is lifted out of its normal osition between the movable supports, and this will allo'w'the parts to be removed from the casing; but normally thedrawer will serve to pre vent displacement of the movable supports and will in turn be guided between them.
In withdrawing the drawer from the. easing the drawer and supports usually move forwardly bodily until the brackets 12 of the sup orts engage the stops or abutments 24 of t ecasin when the forward motion of the supports will be arrested and continued motion of the drawer will cause the latter to move forwardly on the supports until'the abutments 22 of the drawer cooperate with the corresponding abutments 23 at the forward ends of the supports, and at this point the drawer and the supports are at the limit of their forward motion. 'In returning the drawer to the casin the front board of the drawer, which usuall y projects from the sides thereof, will engage the forward ends of the supports after the drawer has moved rearwardly-thereon and continued motion of the parts rearwardly will cause the drawer and supports to be returned bodily into the easreceive the guiding devices considerable s ace is economized, so that the sides of the d i'awer may fit very closely within the casing, as the supports require a very narrow space in which to operate.
In providing a rolling en a ement for the relatively movable parts oi t e device friction and wear are positively eliminated, and therefore drawers equipped with supporting means embodying my invention will fit E closely within their casing and will not bind from warping and similar causes, and as the guiding-tracks form a series of ways which will positively prevent relative vertical motion between the parts and the guidingdrawer and its parts are insured at all times.
I claim as my invention- 1.
