Be it known that l, leere UNeER, a vcitizen of 'the United; States, residing Aat Iron Mountain, in the county of Dickinson and State of Michigan, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Chair-Guards, of which the following is a speciiication.

l The advantages of the improved construction will at'once be understood by those familiar with the requisites. The ad justability of the guardy enablesits position to be altered at will toaccommodate children of the same agebut ot different sizes, as well as to accommodate the same child as it grows. This provision enables the guard to be maintained at all times at just suiicient distance from the chair-seat to comfortably accommodate the childs limbs, thereby not only serving to prevent the possibility of the child sli ping beneath the tray, but also serving e ectually to prevent a strong child from withdrawing its limbsand getting upon its feet.
