Be it known that I, H PO0LE, o'i' thecity of Richmond, and State of Indiana, have invented a now and useful Improvement in Culinary Steamers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part. of this specification, in which-'--. My invention relates to an improvement inculinary steamers whereby the steam is generated in a chamber separate from that in .which the cooking is done, by whiph means the steam maybe controlledand admitted to different compartments of the steamer at pleasure.

To enable'others skilled in the art to make and use myinvention, Iwill proceed to describe its construction.

A represents a steamer divided by vertical partitions into cooking-chambers or compartments horizontally arranged withrelation to each other.

D Dare drawers supported on eleats atthe sides of the chambers, the object of which drawers is to hold the articles to be cooked.

B is the pitof the steamer, and 0 represents a horizontal partition or false bottom, forming a boiler below.

C represents alip or vent provided with 'a hinged lid, which vent serves as a safetywalve, and through which the boiler is supplied withwater. The partition e is inclined from the ends to the centre, so that any dripping of grease will run off andbe discharged from spouts J 1 into any'vessel placed to receive it. I

Other arrangements of the Cooking-chambers may require different modifications for admitting the steam,

when the compartments are arranged vertically with relation to each other. -The steam may be conveyed up through a'tube at the side or end of the steamer, which tube, being provided with avalve in each chamber, will thus also admit of th'esteam being 'jdiria ete d on the different ehambersat pleasure.
