Be it known that I, A. R. BAILEY, of' Elmore, in the county of Lamoille, and in the State of Vermont, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Butter-Tubs; and do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawings, and to the lettersof reference marked thereon.
In the annexed drawings, forming part of this specification- Figure 1 is a side sectional view of the tub, and
Figure 2 is a plan view of the inside top or cover.
Figure represents a horizontal vertical section of the tub with its interior and exterior covers.
The nature of my invention consists in providing a butter-t11b with an inside cover, which is fastened by means of pinsor lugs on its outer edge, and slots or grooves von the inside of the tub.

It will be seen that the lid AB is in addition to the ordinary cover u-pon the tub. The object of this interior lidis to press the brine and salt close upon the better, and keep the butter from working up and down inthe tub and becoming rancid. A
