My invention relates to cars, and has for its especial object an improved cast truck-bol ster.
To this end the invention consists ofthe novel devices and combination ofdevices hereinafter described, and defined in the claims.

It is obvious that under the Weight of the load on the truck-bolsterits upper portion acts in compression, while its lower portion acts in tension. The reinforcing-ribs 11,. it Will be noted, extend approximatelyparallel to the inclined lower Web portion or' the bolster, so that they very materially strengthen the bolster and, in fa'ct, makeunnecessary the use of reinforcing tension-ribs, such as are frequently employed.
