ADJUSTABLE DRAWING-BOARD.

To (LN whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I. \VILLIAM GREEN, a subject of the King of Great Britain, residing at Tamworth, in the State of New South \Vales, in the Commonwealth of Australia, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Adjustable Drawing-Boards, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in an adjustable drawing-board.
The object of this invention is to provide a drawing board suitable for ambidextrous work. The necessary conditions for effectiveness are rigidity of position, ease of manipulation, and simplicity of construction. \Vhen both the pupils hands are engaged in actual drawing, it is obviously necessary that his board should be held upright automatically, and this could with an ordinary drawingboard only be accomplished by means of a costly and complicated frame.
To achieve my object, I construct a board of strawboard or any other suitable material folded over at the middle and with a folding flange or feet at each of the two extremities. \Vhen required for use, the board is placed on the desk with the two feet resting thereon and the folded hinge upward. (The position is similar to that of a book resting on a table partially opened and with the back upward.) The feet of the board are then fastened to the desk with drawing-pins. hen this is done,

To make my invention clearly understood, I shall now refer to the accompanying drawing, which represents a boy seated in front of one of my drawing-boards.
A is the front half of the board, on which A is the central hinge, of cloth or other suitable material. other half of the board, which in its present position acts merely as a stay or support.
A is a hinged foot-piece which is pinned to the desk. A similar folding foot hinged to the back portion A is also pinned to the desk.
\Yhen one face of the board has been used, it can be unpinned and reversed until the whole four drawing-surfaees have been utilized.
By means of this very simple construction a drawing-board can be provided for ambidextrous work which is cheap, strong, simple, adaptable, and in every way convenient.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same is to be performed, I declare that what I claim is An adjustable drawing-board consisting of a sheet of strawboard or other suitable material provided with a folding joint in the middle thereof and a pair of jointed foot-pieees for the purpose herein set forth and as herein fully described.
