Be it known that I, THoMAs Conn, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Chickasha, District 19, Indian Territory, have invented a new and Improved Car-Door Look, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

This invention relates particularly to improvements in locking devices for grain-ear doors, the object being to provide a locking or securing device that may be readily operated and that when in locking position will hold the door closely against the inner side of the door-frame, thus preventing the leaking out of grain.

I will describe a car-door lock embodying my invention and then point out the novel features in the appended claim.

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar characters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a front elevation, partly in section, of a door-frame and a door with a lock ing device embodying my invention thereon. Fig. 2 is a top plan. Fig. 3 is asection on the line a w of Fig. 1, and Fig. 4c is a section on the line 2 1 of Fig. 1.

Referring to the drawings, 1 designates the side posts of the door-frame, which are provided with holes or openings 2 for receiving the locking devices, and to prevent undue wear the openings 2 are provided with metal bushings 3. l have shown four locking devices as attached to the door 5. Each locking device. consists of a shaft 6, having an eccentric-head? for engaging in its opening 2. The shaft is provided at its end with a handle 8, and. the said shaft is movable longitudinally through clips 9 10. The clip 10 is provided at its side adjacent to the clip 9 with a recess 11. for receiving a pin 12 on the shaft, which when the eccentric 7 is drawn outward from its opening will hold said eccentric with its greatest extension outward and will also conveniently hold the handle 8 in vertical position.

It will be noted in the drawings that the door 5 engages in its ends against the inner sides of the door-frame, and to prevent any possible lengthwise movement of the door blocks 13 are secured thereto for engaging against the frame-posts .1.

In the operation when the door is in position the shafts are moved lengthwise to engage the eccentric-heads in the openings 2. Then by a rotary movement of the shafts the eccentrics engaging with the bushings will cause the door to move tightly against the inner side of the door-frame.

Having thus described my invention, Iclaim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent The combination with a door and a door frame having openings in its side posts, of locking-shafts, pairs of clips on the door for each shaft and in which the shaft has rotary and lengthwise movement, one clip of each pair having a recess in its side toward the frame side post, a pin on the shaft for engaging in the recess and eccentric-heads on the shafts for entering the openings in the posts.
