Description

PATENTED JULY 25, 1905.

JACK ADJUSTER FOR LOOMS.
APPLICATION FILED JAN. 17, 1905.
m N N 1 JAMES DAWSON, OF WALTHAM, MASSACHUSETTS.
JACK-ADJUSTER FOR LOOMS.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Iatented July 25, 1905.
Application filed January 17, 1905. Serial No. 241.406.
To all whom, it may concern.-
Beitknown thatI, J AMES DAWSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Waltham, in-
which it appertains to make and use the same.
This invention relates to devices for adjusting the connection between the harness-jack and the treadle in a loom; and it consists in the novel construction of the same, as hereinafter fully described and claimed.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side view of the jack-adjuster. Fig. 2 is a front view of the same.
A is a flat metallic bar provided at one end with two hooks arranged one on each side of it, the hook B being at its extreme end on one side and the hook C being on the other side and not quite at its extreme end. D is a series of inclined projections on the other end. portion of the bar A, which are on the same side of the bar as the hook B and which project toward the hook B.
This adjuster is intended to take the place of the leather strap or jack-strap commonly used to connect the harness-jack with the treadle. The projections D are connected with the jack, and the hooks B and C afiord a means for connection with the treadle.
The hooks B and G are arranged out of line with each other for about one-half the distance between two adjacent projections D, and thereby the said hooks afford a finer adjustment than is possible with the projections and a single hook. The projections cannot be placed very close together, as that would make them too thin and too weak.
What I claim is An adjusting device for a loom-harness, comprising a bar having at one end a series of inclined projections, and having at its other end two books arranged out of line with each other and affording an intermediate adjustment.
In testimony whereof I have afiixed my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
