TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
4Be it known that I, FRANZ DIEBOLD, of the city of Boston, and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Wash-Benehes; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and enact description ot'V the construction and operation. of the saine, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a pa-rt of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
.The nature of my invention' consists inA constructing and' arranging three bars of wood, with two legs attached to each thereof, in such manner that, when united, they shall forni convenient supports for two washtubs; and it further consists in so constructing and arranging the several bars lthat two of them may be united, and thereby form a convenient support for one wash-tub.
Letter A of the drawings represents the long or main bar' of' my Wash-bench. It has one mortise on its upper side, and one on itslower side,s shown, to form the proper'connections with the crossfbars B and C, as hereinafter stated.
Letters B and C a-re cross-bars, attached to the long 'bar A by mortises, in the manner represented on Figure 1 of the drawings, whenever I desire to form a support for two wash-tubs. i
Figure 2 of the drawings is a representation of the cross-bars B and C, detachedfrom the long bar A, and united, to form a, bench for a single tub.. V
Letters D are pinsattached to the several bars, and serve to hold the tub securely ou the bench.
My device is operated as follows: i
Place the bai-iA on its legs, and attach thereto the crossbars B 'and C, in the manner shown on tig. 1. By these means neat and 4convenient benches are fortified fortwo wash-tubs.
Again, place the crossjbars B and C together, in the manner shown on iig. 2,V and thereby s ,neat and convenient bench .is formedfora. single tub. s
What I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The combination and arrangement of the bars, A, B, and C 'with the pins D, and the necessary legs, for the purposes specified. v
