TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN':
Be it known that I, HENRY If. C. MLLER, of Bridgeport, in the .county of Fairfield, and State of Connecticut, have invented a new and useful Improvement'in Shoe-Lacing; and Ido hereby declare that theffollowing is u full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will' enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of this specification.l

This invention relates to a. ne\v device for fastening the upper ends of shoe-strings, and its object is to do away with the tedious process of tying the strings. y
The invention consists in the use of a vire or sheet-metal hook, having two springs projecting above its sides. The string is fastened by laying it' under and around the hook, and by then clamping it between the springs. It will then he firmly held,`and cannot be drawn out unless its end is first released from the springs.
