Be it known that I, ROBERT lViLLIAu SEM- iLe, a `euh 'ect ot' the Kingof England residinv' E 5 b it 181, Vl-rospeet Park west, Brooklyn, in the bounty of Kings, State ol' New York, have invented a new and useful Combined Artists Palette and Color-Dish, of which the followng is a specilication.

The palette part A and color-dishes or slants are integral and separated from each other )y the abrupt rib er wall C. The rib may be ornied by a part raised above the surface of he palette, as shown in Figs. l and Q, or by a groove D in the Surlace of the palette, as Shown in Figs. 3 and l. The edge D ot' this rib forms a barrier and prevents the passage of anything' from the palette to the colordishes, and the edge E may be used lor wiping the color from the brush into its proper slant. Any number of color-dishee or slante may be combined with the palette, and in practice the base is cut away to form edges or feet in order more lirmly to rest on the table. The whole may be made of any suitable material, such as metal, wood, glass, or porcelain.
Having 'fully described the nature ol' my invention, what l claim, and desire to Secure by Letters Patent, is-
l. A combined artists palette and colordish consisting of a palette connected with one of a Series of color-dishes, said palette having a plane, unobstructed, upper Surface, and Separated Yfrom the color-dishes by a rib.
2. An article of manufacture coneisting ot' u a palette joined to one or a series of colordishes, said palette having a plane, unobstructed upper surface, and separated from the color-dishes by a rib which is raised above the plane of the upper surface of the dishes, Said rib having two edges, one on the palette side and the other on the side ol the colordishes.
