TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:

Be it known that we, SMITH M. BROWN and HARVEY J. BROWN, of Holly, in the county of Oakland, and State of Michigan, have invented a newand improved Railroad-Ticket Holder; and we do hereby declare that the following is afull., clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the, same,` reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part-pf this specication, in whch- Figure 1 represents a front vie-w of our improved ticket-holder.

This invention relates to a new device for holding railroad-tickets, and consists chieiiy of a sheet-metal plate having turned inside and bottom edges, whereby iianges are formed, between which and the body of the plate a ticket can be conveniently held. i v

A, in the drawing, represents a plate made of sheet metal or other suitable material, and provided with.

aps a a and Zi Z1, which are turned from the sides and bottom respectively, in towards and parallel with'the front face of the plate, as shown. A channel is thereby formed between the ilaps a b and the body A of the plate, in which a ticket can be securely held, as is indicated in fig. 2.

To the bacleot the plate A may be attached a suitable pin, B, to-faclitate its attachment to a garment, or rings C C may be formed on its sides, as shown, to allow the devieeto be attached to the'ends of a hat-band'.

A portion, c, of the plate may be made to project from the face, as shown, tcclamp the ticket in the groove, as indicated in fig. 2.

The-main advantage of this device consists in its simplicity and cheapness, as it can be stamped of one single piece of sheet metal. It can be ornamented in any suitable manner, so that it will have an elegant appearance.

This device may be used for holding badges and other articles, as well as tickets.

Having described our invention, we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The ticket-holder, constructed as described, consisting ofthe plate A, having its sides, a a, and lower end, b, bent in towards and parallel with the face of the plate, whereby a channel is formed between said sides and plate for the passage of the ticket, which is clamped therein by the lipc, said holdei` adapted to be secured to the ends of a hat-band by means of the rings C C, held in the plate A by the bent slides a, all arranged as' herein described, for the purpose specified. i
