Be it known that I, DOUGLAS B. WODWORTH, of Cincinnati, I-Iamilton county, Ohio, have Ainvented a new and useful Improvement in Britannia 'Tea and CoiI`ere-I? ots;vund I hereby declare the following to be a. full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the' accompanying drawing, making part of this specilcation.v p j My improvement relates to the preti-sion of a sheath or 'sole-'plate,et` -brass or other refractory metal, beneath the bottom of an ordinary -Brit'anni'a'tca or coeefpot, which, while wholly exterior, and therefore not liable to contaminate the contents, serves to'K etl'ectually guard the vessel from 'injury by being set upon a hot stove, orsubjected tol mechanical violence.
In `the accompanyingr drawing, a Britannia tea-pot, embodying my invention, is shown by an axial section of the lower and side elevation of the upper -pu-rt7 the sides A'and bottom, B, being spun or cust in the usual Way, so that the entire interior `surface of the vessel is of one homogeneous material.
In order to guard the bottom `of the potfrom injurious contact With-a hot store, and fromA being dented by mechanical violence, I solder thereto a closely-fitting sheath or sole-platefC, of brass or other refractory metal.
It will bc seen that thcvplatel C is Wholly exterior to the pot proper, and out of contact with itsA contents.
