IMPROVEMENT IN GRAIN-CONVEYERS.
dige rgern nient tu in time Entert-tant@ nmliiugnnt uf the sane.
To ALL nin- 0M 1T MAY CONCERN;
vBe itknovvn that I, J. M. RUSH, of Marengo, inthe county of`Iowa, and StuteA of Iowa, have invented a new and useful Improvement in -Conveyer'for Grain, 8vo.; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable those skilled in the art to make and use/the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part of thisspecifcation, in whichi Figure l-is a longitudinal section of luy-improved grain-conveyer,v taken in the line g/ y, iig. 2.
Figure 2 is a cross-section,- taken in the line :u z, lig. 1.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
This invention relates 'to an improvement 'inthe construction of a clonveyer for feeding grain into a set of millstones, or an elevator, or for other similar purposes, and consists' in so arranging' theilights or conveyers -that their angles may bezchaugod on 'the shaft, or the pitch adjustedto regulate the feed more or less, as
required. n
In the box A is hung asquare shaft, B, on the four sides of whichtis arranged a series of sections of a screw or spiral ights, a a, which are set upon pins 5 6, that pass loosely through theA shaft B, and are keyed on it.
The ights a a on each side of the shaft B are .connected by a rod, e, andthe rods c on all the sides ofthe shaft are connected with a sliding disk, ci, set on the shaft, by the movement of which back and -forth the angles of theflghts'a a may be changed to any desired pitch to give more or lessy feed of grain Aor meal.
For moving the disk d on the shaft B, and adjusting the pitch of the flights a d, a. sliding frame, formed of side-rods e e and heads g g, isconneeted'with thedisk at one end by arms l, I., which catch the periphery to push the disk back andforth ou theshaft, while at the same time itis free to turn with the shaft. The sliding frame is held in position by a set-screw, c, which works in one of the heads L opposite disk d.
-The operation of this device is obvious.
Having described my invention', I claim as new, and desire tosecurev by 'Letters Patent- The sliding frame, combined with disk d and the ights aa on the shaftB, arranged and operating substantially as and for the purpose herein described.
J. M. RUSH.
