Be it known that I, SAMUEL R. SGOTTRON, of Springfield, Hampden county, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented a new and useful Improved Mix-rom and I do hereby declare that the following is a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon. In the drawings- Figure 1 is a front View of my mirror, and
Figure 2 a plan vienr of the same.
This invention consists ofan arrangement of mirrors npon a stand in such a manner that a person can adjust them to different positions about his head, and .he enabled to catch anyT View of it.
. In eonstrnction, I form my device of a stand, A, having an adjustable rod, B, upon the top of whichv areset two wings, C and D, hinged together upon the rod, so that'they eanbe moved separately or together, and be placed at any angle to each other, the rod B being the apex of said angles. Upon .the top of the rod is a setnut, which screws upon threads out in the rod at .this point. This nut, E, is for the purpose of turning down upon the edges of the wings C and D, and clamping themtightly against the shoulder a upongthe rod, andV upon which the lower part of the wings rests, at the bottom of' the hinge, and so xing the mirrors at the point desired by the spectator. i
In these wings, C' and D, are arranged mirrors, b c, Awhich are placed in frames d, e, f, &o., piroteu 1n the wings at their centres, so that they also are adjustable, andcan beset at different angles to each other. In order to increase' the variety of deflections, one oi' the mirrors, b, has its frame, e, set into another frame, f, which works on horizontal axes, g and g, While the fraine 'of the mirror is pivoted vertically in it, thus allowing the mirror l5 to be turned up or down, at pleasure. v
By this arrangement the mirrors can he set so as to reflect from each other, and the spectator be enabled to see himself as 'others see l1im,land the ease by which the glasses may be adjusted to the proper position, and fastened there by the sot-nut E and set-screw F, (clamping the rod R in the stench) renders this device a very convenient one for those who wish to undertake their toilet for themselves.
New, having described my invention, what l claim, as new, and desire to seeureby Letters Patent, is-
l. An arrangement of mirrors, l) c, in frames LZ e j', and set into Wings C and D, hinged together, substantiaily as and for the purpose shown.
2. The combination of the ahove with t-hei'orl B, having the shoulder a and set-nut E, and arranged in a stand, A, so as to be adjustable in height, substantially as shown. p
SAMUEL R. SGOTTRON.
