JOHN D. NEAL, OF WATERVILLE, MAINE.
CONCEALED WINDOW-SHADE SUPPORT.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 761,006, dated May 24, 1904.
Application filed April 11, 1904.. Serial No. 202,598. (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JOHN D. NEAL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Waterville, in the county of Kennebec and State of Maine, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Concealed Window-Shade Supports,
of which the following is a specification.
supporting-clip. Fig. 4 is a rear plan view thereof, and Fig. 5 is a longitudinal sectional view of the complete support.
Referring to the drawings, A designates the supporting clip or plate, which is provided with the two hook-shaped flanges B and has provided in the main body a series of openings C for the reception of the supporting or retaining brads or screws D. Passing through the body of the plate and also through the flanges are the alining openings E and F, the purpose of which will presently appear. This supporting clip or plate is secured by means of brads or screws upon the window-frame and is adapted to receive the long flat end or base G of the shade-supporting bracket H,one of which is provided with an eye and the other of which is provided with a slot, as usual, for removably receiving the shade K.
Provided in the base of the shade-supporting bracket and adapted to aline with the openings E and F of the clip when the base is sup ported within the clip are two parallel elongated slots L and L, which allow the shade-supporting bracket to be adjustably slid Within the clip and held in a rigid or adjusted position by means of thebinding-screws M, which are base, thus holding the frame immovable within the clip.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the drawings, it is evident that I provide a concealed window-shade support which is so constructed as to adjustably fit any length shade and which when in position is almost entirely concealed by the shade.
What 1 claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
i l. A shade-support, consisting of a clip having two hook-shaped flanges, said clip being provided with a series of openings through the body thereof for the reception of supporting means and with openings through the body of the flanges and the body of the clip, a shadesupporting bracket hav ing a pair of parallel slots through the base thereof adapted to have its base slidably mounted within the flanges of the clip so that the slots therein aline with the openings of the flanges and clip, and means passing through said openings and slots for securing thesupporting-bracket and clip rigidly with relation to each other.
2. A shade-support, consisting of a clip having two hook-shaped flanges, said clip being provided with a series of openings through the body thereof for the reception of supporting means and with openings through the body of the flanges and the body of the clip, a shadesupporting bracket having a pair of parallel slots through the face thereof adapted to have its base slidably mounted within the flanges of the clip so that the slots therein aline with the openings of the flanges and clip, and screws passing through said openings and slots for securing the supporting-bracket and clip rigidly with relation to each other.
In testimony whereof Iaffix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JOHN D. NEAL.
