YBe it known thlat I, WILLIAM H. LACH, or Dorchester, in the county OfNOrfOlk, and State-of Massachuset ts, have invented certain Improvements in Scissors-Sharpeners, of' which'the following is a. full, clear, and'exact K, description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of my'improved scissors-sharpener.

Figure 2 is a plan of the under side of the same.

Figure 3 is a transverseseetion on the line :v xof fig. 2.

The object of myinventiou is to provide, at a small cost, an implement of simple construction, bythe/use of which scissors'may be sharpened in a convenient and expeditious manner; and my invention consists in a pair of parallel blocks, provided with an inclined groove Afor the reception of a tile, the inclination of`which corresponds to that ofthe bevelled edge of the blade to be sharpened; one-of the parallel blocks being brought up toward theother by-a screw or screws for the purpose of making the width of the'opening between them vtoi correspond to thev thickness of the blade, a spring being also employed to. equalize the pressure communicated thereto by'the hand of' the opcrator,and tokeepythe bladeproperly guided as it isinoved over the file. To enable others skilled in the art tounderstand and ilsenly invention, I- will proceed to describe the manner in which Iv have carried it out. y

In the said drawings, A B are two`parallel blocks/each of which is provided with a longitudinal inclined recess, .forming a groove for the reception of a le, the inclination of which corresponds to that'of the bevelled edge of th'e blade to be sharpened thereon.
