WATER-BOTTLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 759,555,, dated May 10, 1904.
Application filed June 19, 1903- To all whom it may concern.-
Beit known that I, ROBERT WILLIAM SAMP- soN, of the city of Quebec, Province of Quebec, Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Water- Bottles; and 1 do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same.
The invention has for its object to provide a hot-water bottle which need not be refilled each time it is to be applied and to supplement said bottle with an attachment adapted to prevent the radiation of heat from the bottle in any direction except toward the part of the person to which it is applied.
The invention may be said, briefly, to consist of a hot-water bottle provided with a shield of insulating material extending over all sides thereof excepting that designed to have the heat radiate therefrom, the bottle itself being constructed of metal and independent sections, preferably three in number, which are carried in the pockets of a textile carrier.
For full comprehension, however, of the invention reference must be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this speciiication, and wherein Figure l is a perspective view of my improved device ready for use. Fig. 2 is aface View thereof open and with one of the bottlesections partially removed. Fig. 3 is a transverse sectional view taken on line A A, Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a detail perspective View of the carrier with two bottles removed and textile portion folded over the single bottle.
The carrier of my improved device is of textile material and comprises three pockets 0, (Z, and e and a cover or flap f, which is fastened in its closed position by any suitable fastening devices, such as indicated at g.
The bottle-sections each consists of a cylindrical part of curved form and having its ends J diminished, while one end has a removable screw cap or stopper is.
The textile carrier is preferably made of two thicknesses, and a portion thereof opposite to that intended to be applied to the person has Serial No. 162,247. (No model.)

When the water in the bottle-sections becomes cold, it is only necessary to remove them and place them in a pot or other utensil or hold them over a flame, or otherwise subject them to heat. If a small water-bottle is wanted, one only of the sections need be used, preferably the middle one, the portions of the carrier on either side thereof being folded upon one side of it, or when a bottle of square rather than of flat form is required two of the sections may be used and the carrier folded over them.
What I claim is as follows:
1. A hot-water carrier comprising a textile carrying part of double thickness, a flap at one end of said carrying part, a series of oblong pockets located side by side and extending toward said flap, said flap being adapted to be folded over and cover the open ends of said pockets for the purpose of closing such pockets, a series of oblong bottles located in said pockets, and a sheet of insulating material interlaying the double thickness upon the side of said pockets upon which the flap is folded, for the purpose set forth.
2. A hot-water carrier comprising a textile carrying part of double thickness, a flap at one end of said carrying part, a series of oblong pockets located side by side and extending toward said flap, said flap being adapted to be folded over and cover the open ends of said pockets, a series of oblong bottles of curved form located in said pockets and sheets of insulating material interlaying the double thickness upon the side of said pockets upon which the flap is folded, for the purpose set forth.
