Beit known that we,'l`HonA-s J BAKER and residingat Findlay, fin the county of Hancock and vState of Ohio, have inventednew and useful Improvements -inFlue-Cleaners, of which lthefollovving is a specification.y -i' Our invention relates to an improvement in flue-cleaners, and moreparticularly to that class o f flue-cleaners in which a blast of steam or a1r is used ,to create-a vacuumA to suck-out the dirt and soot'fromthe flue. Referring now more particularly to the drawings, A indicates the body pf our cleaner,
'which is in the form ofa hollow elbow-pro"- viled at one end with the nozzle A", which is adaptedto be inserted in the flue to be cleaned, and at the other end with the nozzle A2, eX-
tendinjg at substantially right angles to thel nozzle A,' which-forms an outlet for the soot and dirt from the ilue. An annular ilange A3 is formed around the end of the nozzle A. This flange A3 abuts against the end of the boiler and forms a tight joint therewith to prevent the escape of any sootfrom the tube whenthe nozzle A is inserted therein'. In practice We prefer to make the nozzle Al quite small and the flange A3 quite Wide, so that the cleaner may be used' withequal facility on boilers provided with large and small tubes.
