This trnss is intended for a double hernia, and iza-applied to the patieht in the ordinary way, by placing the frame around the side above the hip, and adjustingthe pads Dbto thelocation' of the protrnsion or rupture', which is done by shifting the pads fromone hole a to another, as thel'hature of the ae may require. The pad G is also adjust'ed by moing it along either way by the sbi'erfbywhichitis secured to' the'frame; This frame, being constructed of steel Wire, requires no straps to s'eeui'e it to the weaxier, as it=will by its ov-vn'tens'ion retain itself inl place. w I i i The 'hars C E, being pivoted'to. the frame, as above describeth allows tlierfrt x'e.lily.adapt themselves to the lateral movcments of the body, hence avoiding any'movement or turningfoti the pads, whichare also pivoted to the bars; therefore the pads will rexnain in their place without any change o f position, in lwhatever way the body may be bent, and thus avoid abrasion of the pads on4 the rupture.
