R. R. in the city of Cincinnati, county of Hamilton, and State of Ohio,) have invented an Improvement in Lazy -Backs; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this specification.
My invention relates to lazy-backs; and it has for its object the improvement in the construction of such devices whereby they are simplified and rendered more efficient in action.
The novelty of my invention consists in the combination and subcombination of the parts, as will be hereinafter set forth, and specifically pointed out in the claim.
Figure 1 is afront elevation. Fig. 2 is a plan view. Fig. 3 is a section on line 3 3 of Fig. 1.

A represents a piece of tar-board paper or other suitable material which forms the back.
B is a frame to which the tar-board-paper back A is attached. This frame B can be made of wood or any other suitable material. This back can be attached to the seat of a buggy in the usual manner.
The object of using tar-board paper to make the backpanel is for the purpose of cheapness in construction, as the wood usually used for that purpose is becoming Very scarce.
Having described my invention, what I claim isp The combination in a lazy-back of a frame B to which is attached in a suitable manner the tar-board back A substantially as described.
