Beit known that I, JOHN H. BARRBNQER, Jr., of Hillsboro, in the county of Montgomery, and State of Illinois, Yhave made certain new and useful Improvements in Curry-Combs; and I do hereby declare that the following is a. full and clear description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon. The object of this invention is to arrange the teeth of a. curry-comb so that coarse ordine teeth muy be used at pleasure, the teeth being` arranged on adjustable cylinders, each of the sides of the/said cylinders having diierenf-sized teeth, and the arrangement being such that either side of the cylinder and its teeth may he set outwerdly on the working side ot' the comb, es may be required, i To enable those skilled in the art to make and use my improved comb,1 willproceed to describe its construction and operation.

The comb has a, handle, A, as usual, which, in this casc, is fastened by meansof the rivets a to the L -sliapcd side-pieces B. These side-pieces should be made ot' some elastic metal, so they may be sprung outwardly from.

Euch of these cylinders is to have four (more or less) sets ot' teeth', c, radiating from the cylindrical anis, and each set of these teeth is to be of different degrees of {ineness from the others. Euch of the cylinder-s0 is to be provided with nvsquare journal, c', on each ot` 'its ends, and when the parts are together these journals find their bearings in square holes fitted to receive them in the side-pieces B. Smell key-pins a2 should be placed through the journals of the outer cylinder, asis clearly shown, for the purpose of preventing the outer ends ofthe said pieces B from spreading apartland let the cylinders drop out.` The comb, constructed as above, may easily be set for a tine or o coarse comb, or :at any intermediate grade, by simply taking out the keys c2, then the cylinders C, and then again replacing them, ns desired.
