4following is a specification.
The object of this invention is the provision of means whereby a necktie, and more-particularly a bow-necktie, may be readily secured in position.

The stud has a V-shaped head and a .stem of approximately rectangular section.
In the drawings, Figure lis a rear elevation of a necktie; Fig. 2, a transverse section of the band, showing the stud in position; Fig. 3, a perspective View of the stud.
The band l is covered, as regards its front portion, with silk 2, of which the tie is made, and the bows of the tie are passed through the band and secured therein by sewing or other means. l.
The end 3 of the band overlaps the end 4 and slides, when the band is compressed, in guides formed by bending over the small ears 5, made integral with the upper corners of the end 4.
The hole 6 in end 3 and hole 7 in end 4 are approximately rectangular in shape and may be brought into correspondence by compressing the band, and the head of a stud may then be passed through both holes.
band is released, the stud is gripped between the upper edge of the hole edge of hole 6.
7 and the lower When the l The stud, as shown in Figs. 2 and 3, has a V-shaped head- 8 Ito'facilitate its passage through the holes and a stem or shank 9 of rectangular section, whereby the stud is prevented from turning around in the holes in the neckbank of the shirt and collar, and the band l is prevented from turning upon the stud, so that the neektie is always maintained in correct position. The band may be made of steel, nickel-plated, or of Celluloid or other convenient material.
What I claim asmy invention, and desire to secure byLetters Patent, is-
l. In a necktie the combination of aspringing each a hole adapted to receive a collarstud when said holes are brought into correspondence by compressing the band as speciv ed herein.
2. In a necktie the combination of a springband encircling the middle of the tie and having one end overlapping and slidable over the other, one end being guided upon the other and eachpend having a hole adapted for the passage of the head of a stud when the holes are broughtinto correspondence by compressing 'the band, anda stud having aV-shaped head to facilitate its passage through said holes and a shank of rectangular section whereby the tie is held in correct position when in use as specified.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two witnesses.
