SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 736,416, dated August 18, 1903.

I attain my object by means of the device illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view of my stovepipeholder; Figs. 2 and 3, views of the holder in position sustaining a stovepipe, showing the mode of adjusting it to pipes at difierent distances from the chimney-wall.
Similar numerals refer to similar parts throughout the drawings.
My holder consists of a fixed part and an adjustable part. The fixed partis preferably made of Wrought-iron and consists of an arm 6, channeled to receive the 1oop 3 of the adj ustable part, and of the bracket 7, adapted to be screwed or nailed to the chimney, wall, or other fixed support. I make the channel by turning up the edges of the arm along its length and the bracket by bending a suitable length of material at right angles to the arm. The bracket is provided with holes to admit the screws or nails for fastening; justable part is preferably made of springwire and consists of a clasp and a loop.. The
clasp is shaped into the form shown inthe drawings by bending the wire, Fig. 1 showing a top view, and Figs. 2 and 3 side views,
of the adapted form. The clasp is a double one, consisting of an upper and lower part. The lower part is formed by bending the wire around a former for a suitable length to the shape of a part of the circumference of the pipe. The upper part is formed by bending upward in a suitable curve the two parts of the wire thus left free and thence backward The adaround the former to the meeting-point of the wires, where they are twisted together, as at 2, for a suitable length.
The loop 3 is formed of the free parts of the wire, adapted to slide in the channel of the arm 6, and the ends of the wires twisted, as at 5.
A screw or bolt through the arm 6 is fitted with a not adapted to squeeze the loop 3 and hold it rigidly in any adjusted position. The screw or bolt and nut are shown at 4. It operates in conjunction with the walls of the channel to hold the pipe more rigidly; 7

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. A stovepipe-holder comprising a fixed part and a part adjustable thereon, the adjustable part comprising an open clasp with upper and lower spring-arms and a portion received in and adjustable on the fixed part, substantially as described.
2. The combination with a channeled sustaining-arm formed with attaching portion, of a clasp of spring metal open upon one side and having upper and lower portions to grasp the pipe in difierent vertical planes, and a horizontal portion adj ustablyheld in the channel of the sustaining-arm. 3. The combination with a channeled sustaining-arm formed with attaching means, of a clasp having a looped shank slidable in the channeled sustaining-arm, means for retaining said loop in its adjusted position and a double clasp comprising upper and lower arms of spring material joined to said looped shank and open to receive the stovepipe, substantially as described.
4..
