PATENT lCE-CREAlVl-BRICK MOLD.
SPECIFICATION tbrmingpart of Letters Patent No. 731,519, dated June 23, 1903. Application filed February 8, 1903. Serial No. 141,694. (No model.)
To all, whom it mag concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES J. SNIGO, a citizen of the United States, residing at Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Ice-Cream-Brick Molds, of which improvement the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved iceoream-brick mold; and it consists in the certain details of construction and combination of parts as will be fully described hereinafter. In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective view of myimproved ice-cream-' brick mold, the same being constructed and arranged in accordance with my invention. Fig. 2 is a sectional side elevation of a portion of the same. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of a portion of one of the soft-rubber packing-rings used in connection with the lids of the mold.
To construct an ice-cream-brick mold in accordance with my invention, I form from sheet metal a body portion 6, rectangular in form and open at the top and bottom. Attached to the upper and lower periphery of this box 6 are angular metallic strips tand 4 in order that a smooth'broad surface may be obtained, forming a bearing for a soft-rubber washer placed in each lid of the mold. Each of these lids is formed from sheet metal 1, having attached thereto a reinforcing-strip 2 and peripheral flanges 3, and each lid is provided with a soft-rubber washer 5, arranged in the inside of the same.
The parts, consisting of the body portion and the lids, are held together by means of a metallic strap 7, flattened (S) at the base, and having journaled thereon an eccentric 9, provided with an integral lever 10, as shown at Fig. 1 of the drawings.
In operation the cream is placed in the box 6 and the lids 3 and 3 clamped securely in position, the rubber 5 preventing any leakage, either of the cream from the box or the salt water into the same. The molds are placed into the freezer, and when the cream is frozen the same is easily removed by removing both lids and pressing'the brick therefrom.
Slight modifications and changes may be made in the details of construction without departing from the spirit of the invention.
Having thus described myinvention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The herein-described ice-cream-brick mold, consisting of the rectangular body portion 6, the reinforcing-strips 4 attached to the up per and lower edges of the same, the lids forming the top and bottom of the box and provided with strips 2, the metallic tie 7 the eccentric 9 and integral lever 10 for holding the parts of the mold together, and the soft rubber washers 5 interposed between the top edges of the box and the lids to form a seal, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JAMES J. snreo.
