IMPEOVED SASH-STOP.

TO ALL WHOM IT MAY OONCERN:

Be it known that I,'JAMl-1s R. HALL, of Georgetown, in the countyof Vermillion, and State of Illinois, have invented an Impro'ved Sash-Supporter and Fastener; and I do'hereby declarethat the following is afull, clear` and exaotdcscription thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to make and use the same, referencebeing had to the aocompanying drawing, forming part of this specification.

The present invention consists' in a. simple and novel'attaohmcnt to sash or window-frames, for the support and fastening of th'e sash therein at any desiredpoint in its play orv movement. In the ac'companying'plate of drawings my improved sash-supporter or fastener is illrustrated- Figure l being an edge view of the same, and

A,'n the drawings, represents the frame 'or holder carrying the parts constituting my improved sashsupporter` or fastener. This frame consists of a faceiplate, B, having applied to it two parallel projectingv plates, C, in and between which is arranged a lever-catoh, D, that, at one end, is retained. hy a bent spring, E,

'which Projects out from the face-plate, and extends along its length, andl is secured and fixed at its end F i thereto. This catch, by its hook end G, is projected through an opening, H, in the face-plate B, when operrated upon by the bearing of the roller-I, eocentrioally hu'ng within and between .the two plates O, in proper`` position to act against such 'catchz this roller being provided with a milled handle, J, for couvenienee in operating it.

From the description above, of ,my ilnproved snsh-supporter and fatener, it is plainly apparent that the spring E acts to'suppor't lthe sash, and the lever-catch, if `properlythrown out, to no't only support, but also to fasten the sash. i
