` T. BssLE.
` PULP ENGINE.
. (Application led Nov. B, 1901 NwMudpl.)
UNITED STATES PATENT EEICE THEODOR BSSLER, OF NEUSS, GERMANY.
PULP-ENGINE SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 716,172, dated December 16, 1902.
Application filed November 8. 1901. Serial No. 81,526. (No model.)
T0 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THEoDoR BSSLER, a citizen of Germany, and a resident of Neuss,
Rheuish Prussia, Germany, have invented` certain newand usefullmprovements in Pulp-p` Engines, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates Ato a pulp engine which will effect a thorough trituration ofthe mass. The accompanying drawing is a plan, partly in section, of my improved pulp-engine.
The letter t represents a horizontal casing having contracted ends t', which are coupled" to a horizontal tube 1^, so as to form a contin-` uous horizontal. passage. At the center the casing t is enlarged to form a squared chamber which is wider than tube r and accommodates the horizontally-hung triturating-roller w. The shaft w3 of this roller extending across tube fr turns in Vbearings w' and` is driven from pulley wz.
ber of casing t is provided with two tapering or coniform ends which merge at their apex into the inwardly-turned contracted necks t. The pulp moved forward by roller w in a horizontal direction will be gradually compressed within the contracted necks and will be forced rapidly through the comparatively narrow The squared cham# tube fr to become thoroughly mixed and uniformly triturated. 4 The casing 25,'as well as the return-tube o, are arranged in a horizontal plane, so that the pulp need not be lifted :during trituration and deposits will not acl contracted necks, and with a triturating-roller within the chamber, substantially as speci fied.
Signed by me at Dsseldorf, Germany, this 29th day of October, 1901.
THEoDoR BssLER.
